A needle in your face is not a haircut.
The single most common reason someone leaves an aesthetics website without booking is that they never found out who would be treating them.
Two doctors — and both their pages say “Lorem Ipsum”
Most med spas would give a great deal to be owned by two physicians. Here, the pages that should introduce them — “Meet Dr. Tasha Shamlin, Physician and Co-Owner” and the same for Dr. Shamlin-Haynes — are filled with Lorem Ipsum placeholder text under “Awards and Honors” and “Specializations”. A patient who clicks to learn who will treat her finds a printer’s dummy text instead.
A website that stopped in 2021
The footer reads © 2021. The Specials page advertises a February “Love Month” event. The Juvéderm page calls Ultra Plus XC “recently approved by the FDA”, and the site still links Brilliant Distinctions, the Allergan rewards programme replaced by Allē in 2021. The laser hair removal page promises “permanent” results. None of that appears here — their real credentials do.
What a physician-owned spa actually changes.
Doctors, not just a medical director on paper
The owners are practising physicians in internal medicine and pediatrics. Health and appearance are looked at together, which is how they describe their own philosophy.
Laser hair removal for darker skin
Their CoolGlide laser was chosen specifically to treat men and women of darker skin types and tones, including tanned skin — something many laser clinics cannot offer safely.
Years of certification behind the needle
Certified in Botox, Juvéderm and Radiesse, Allergan Gold Level members, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery members since 2007, and trained with Dr. Obagi himself in 2008.
Wellness under the same roof
A medically structured weight loss programme and hormone replacement run alongside the aesthetics, with a doctor reviewing history before anything starts.

Baton Rouge Business Report — both doctors
The things people ask before they book.
Who owns the spa? Is there a doctor?
Two doctors. The Medical Spa of Baton Rouge was founded by sisters Kenyatta Shamlin-Haynes, MD and Tasha Shamlin, MD, who trained in internal medicine and pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and also practise at Baton Rouge Family Medical Center.
What does Botox feel like, and is there recovery time?
A very fine needle places small amounts in several spots, and most people compare the feeling to a bug bite. It takes a few minutes and you can usually go straight back to your day; any slight bruising can be covered with make-up.
Can you do laser hair removal on darker skin?
Yes. Their Cutera CoolGlide laser is designed to treat men and women of darker skin types and tones, including tanned skin, all year round. It is done as a course of sessions.
What is truSculpt?
A non-invasive radiofrequency body-contouring treatment for stubborn areas such as the thighs and buttocks, usually in one or two sessions of an hour or less. Whether it suits you is decided at the consultation.
How does the Weight Loss Program start?
With a consultation: your BMI, a questionnaire, your medical history, vitals, height and starting weight. The programme is then built around you.
Do you offer hormone replacement?
Yes, as part of their restorative health services. It starts with testing and a conversation with a physician about your symptoms and history.
Do you do bridal packages?
Yes — silver, gold and platinum packages combining facials, massage, make-up and more for the big day. The details are on their Bridal Packages page.
When are you open?
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, ten until six. Saturday, nine until three. Closed Sunday, Monday and Thursday.

Meet Sandy, the front desk that never goes home.
She knows every treatment The Medical Spa of Baton Rouge offer, who the physicians are and when the spa is open. Ask her out loud — she answers in about a second.
- “Can you do laser hair removal on dark skin?”
- “Are the owners actually doctors?”
- “What is in the bridal packages?”
- “Are you open on a Saturday?”
- “Book me a consultation next Tuesday.”
Demonstration only. Any appointment Sandy takes here is not placed with The Medical Spa.
The same Sandy can answer the phone.
What you just spoke to is the website half. The identical agent — same treatment knowledge, same booking rules, same voice — can be connected to a phone line to catch the calls nobody gets to.
Unanswered calls. Sandy picks up when the line rings out because the room is busy.
After hours and weekends. She answers questions and takes bookings while the doors are shut.
Overflow. When two calls arrive at once, the second one stops going to voicemail.
Nothing about your existing number changes. You keep it, you keep answering it, and Sandy only takes what you would otherwise have lost. You can listen to every call and read every booking she makes.
- Sandy gets her own numberA dedicated line, never published to your guests.
- You set the forwarding rulesBusy, no answer, or after hours — your choice, with your carrier, reversible in a minute.
- She answers what you missSame knowledge she has here. She can also hand a caller straight to a human.
- Bookings land in your systemConnected to your real diary once you say so — never before.

Everything on this page came from medicalspaofbatonrouge.com — your own photographs, your own credentials, your own treatments and hours. Nothing was invented and nothing was bought in. A 60-minute Discovery Call with Ignatius covers what it takes to run properly — the phone line, the diary on the days you are closed, the follow-up — and whether it is worth doing at all.
